Our students manipulate the smallest pixels on a computer screen to design brilliant shapes and manage vibrant colors; they leap across dance floors and cry from theatre stages; they paint and sculpt and weld to portray their perceptions; and they perform the most delicate movements to make their instruments sing. They use the latest tools, technology, and ideas to design and analyze landscapes and neighborhoods while impacting the skylines of cities around the world. Their diverse and robust work is immense and affects individuals and entire cities.

FAA students consistently win national awards for their designs, performances, and creative works. In the recent spotlight: Industrial Design students’ design of the sports wheel-chair; a music student’s composition of the celebrated anthem for the Lance Armstrong Foundation; a research and planning effort aimed at enhancing the landscape around theTaj Mahal; the architectural design and planning of the Chicago lakefront project; and a painting student’s design of the Latin Grammy Awards poster.
