AIA Lifetime Achievement Award for Architecture Alumna

Illinois Architecture alumna Carol Ross Barney ('71) of Ross Barney Architects was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from AIA Chicago! Among her many celebrated projects, Ross Barney and her firm has designed the Chicago Riverwalk and the main Champaign Public Library. The president of AIA Chicago's Board of Directors states, "Carol is known as 'the People's Architect' because her significant contributions to the built environment have a profound daily impact on the way Chicagoans experience and interact with our city through accessible, engaging civic architecture, infrastructure and public realm design excellence."
