Deke Weaver Project to Premiere in September
Since 2009, performances in The Unreliable Bestiary series have mixed live action with film, storytelling, songs, science, histories of animal-human connections, and settings that evoke the habitats of the creatures at its core. Deke Weaver, a professor of new media, will present BEAR this fall in three chapters that will cover the hibernation cycle of one of North America's largest land mammals and show how climate change and habitat loss have affected six species. This next production in the series will include a walk through Meadowbrook Park in the fall, online videos and geocaching this winter, and spring performances at the Station Theatre in Urbana. The first segment will run from September 21 to October 2. Read more about this new work in a News Bureau feature.
