Krannert Art Museum to Reopen November 17 after Green Renovations

Friday, November 4, 2016

With support from the Student Sustainability Committee, donors, and matching funds from the university, Krannert Art Museum has completed the first phase of an ambitious renovation plan. Four galleries that had not received upgrades since 1961 now are equipped with LED lighting controlled electronically, Wi-Fi, new flooring, updated seating, and replacement walls and ceilings. In addition to offering more flexibility for displays and better viewing of artwork, the renovations will save energy and costs for lighting, heating, and cooling. A reopening celebration is scheduled for November 17 at 6:00 p.m. Read more about the changes at Krannert Art Museum in a News Bureau feature.
