Lucero and Dixon Discuss Humor at March 19 Uncorked and On Topic

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

At the March 19 edition of Uncorked and On Topic, Jorge Lucero of the School of Art and Design and Lisa Gaye Dixon of Illinois Theatre will explore humor and its role in the classroom, the studio, the stage, and the office. Jan Erkert, the head of Dance at Illinois, will moderate this free conversation. Lucero focuses his research on the interconnections between contemporary art practices that have teaching components and pedagogical approaches that are also sophisticated art practices. Dixon, an actor and director, selects works that address social and political issues through the universality of human experience—and always with humor. Held in conjunction with the wine tasting event Uncorked, this intellectual exchange will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the Tryon Festival Theatre Foyer at Krannert Center.
