Music's Larry Gray Featured on NPR

Wednesday, June 3, 2015

Bassist Larry Gray—an associate professor of jazz in the School of Music—was part of the quintet for Made in Chicago, a live recording of a performance at Jack DeJohnette Day during the 2013 Chicago Jazz Festival. Gray and the legendary drummer and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master DeJohnette shared the stage with woodwind players Roscoe Mitchell and Henry Threadgill and pianist Muhal Richard Abrams. The musicians were profiled on NPR's "Weekend Edition Saturday" and will perform this summer at the Newport Jazz Festival.
